The Learning Experience Designer (LXD) is responsible for architecting durable learning experiences and managing client relationships. LXDs bring together Design Thinking, Learning Sciences and Consultative skills to architect impactful learning experiences. LXDs play a critical role in the end-to-end learning process, particularly around analysis and design / redesign. LXDs leverage Design Thinking to analyze the learners’ needs and collaboratively design modality-agnostic, durable learning experiences. The LXD partners with Learning Partners and various Accenture Learning teams to solve the business challenges with learning experiences. The Designer is often closely aligned to a Design Lead who provides mentorship and strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learning Needs Identification
    • Partner with Learning Partners to clarify challenges and define the business problem.
  • Learner Analysis
    • Plan and support learner research (e.g., interviews, surveys, focus groups) to better understand learners’ needs.
    • Summarize the learners’ needs, context and problems which will ultimately shape the learning design.
  • Learning Experience Design
    • Co-create learner-centric, durable learning experiences by collaboratively designing and redesigning end-to-end experiences that are tool and modality agnostic.
    • Co-facilitate learning experience design workshops leveraging Design Thinking and facilitation best practices.
    • Co-create learning experience design frameworks (based on learning science) that meet business outcomes and appropriately take advantage of a wide range of enablement options, including learning assets, knowledge management, certification, learning boards, collections, etc.
    • Facilitate transition meeting with development team(s) to build understanding of the project, learners’ needs and design framework.
  • Detailed Design & Iterative Development
    • Support durable learning reviews to ensure learning experiences are “sticky.”
    • Partner with Development Leads to write learning objectives for each learning experience component based on desired business outcomes.
    • Monitor quality and integrity of the holistic learning experience across / within multiple AL channels through iterative development and delivery.
  • Delivery
    • Support learner research and/or review learner input to shape iterative improvement plans.
      Contribute to and participate in project debrief reviews.
  • Relationship Management
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to the business and Learning Partners to help them navigate the learning ecosystem and collaborate to begin development, manage programs, shepherd experiences, measure outcomes and ensure smooth delivery.
    • According to governance approach, partner with Project Manager to ensure risks and issues with timeline, scope and budget are appropriately documented, reported and mitigated.
    • Collaborate with team, peers, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to maintain relationships.
  • Knowledge Sharing
    • Create credentials for learning experience successes.
    • Share lessons learned and new approaches with LXD and other AL teams.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing and architecting a wide range of learning experience solutions
  • Minimum of 2 months of Design Thinking experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS – degree in Instructional Design, Cognitive Psychology, English, Technical Writing, Communications, related field, or equivalent experience
  • Prefer experience with global teams and audiences

Professional Skills:

  • Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity and creativity
  • Excellent professional presence that can be leveraged to influence clients and to inspire confidence
  • Knowledge of learning architectures using multiple learning modalities to strategically solve business problems
  • Knowledge of how to use Design Thinking approaches and techniques in workshops
  • Knowledge of issue identification and problem-solving methods
  • Knowledge of learning sciences, including durable learning
  • Excellent written communication skills – ability to articulate a design rationale with clarity and creativity
  • Excellent oral communication skills – ability to facilitate client SMEs and sponsor discussions to set expectations and ensure appropriate involvement
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Project)

Compensation

Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $62,640 – 120,199
